Riboflavin (Vitamin B-2)
Riboflavin
is helpful for red blood cell formation, production of antibodies, cell
respiration, and normal growth. Riboflavin, like other B-Vitamins is directly
associated with metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins.
In one open clinical study, high-dose riboflavin showed significant
effectiveness as a migraine treatment. In a subsequent randomized trial, 400 mg
of riboflavin and placebo were tested for three months in 55 migraine patients.
In the riboflavin group, 59% improved by at least 50%, compared with 15% of the
placebo group showing at least 50% improvement.
Recommended Dietary Allowances: Men = 1.7 mg; Women = 1.3 mg; Pregnant Women
= 1.6 mg
